2014 Race for a Better Place
The JLHR Race for a Better Place 8k/5k Run/Walk was a huge success! The Race took place on Saturday, April 19 at the Mariners’ Museum at 8:30am. It was rainy and cold, but that didn’t stop us or so many of our participants! We had 321 people sign up for the 8k and 5k races, and 224 completed the Race. The Race raised over $10,500, with expenses of about $3,500, yielding a profit of over $7,000! We had a ton of volunteers from the JLHR, CNU, HRA, Starbucks, Boys and Girls Club and several husbands. Our volunteers helped to set up, work the registration table, serve beer, keep the course safe by serving as water station attendants and course marshals, and clean up. It’s incredible how much we can do when we all work together!
