What sets our kitchen tour apart from all other home tours in the area is that the Ferguson Dream Kitchen Tour has HEART. The Junior League of Hampton Roads in partnership with Susan G. Komen For the Cure Tidewater Affiliate, are doing this PURELY to raise funds for our not-for-profit organizations to raise awareness and help educate about female reproductive and breast cancers and give back to the community.
Our tour focuses on real people living in real kitchens. The focus is primarily on remodeling your existing kitchen and making it function for your family, although we do have two new construction kitchens.
Our kitchens have stories. Our kitchens have heart and breath. They range from spectacular and over the top to “regular” kitchens. Our privately owned homes will be opened for public viewing for a brief time by homeowners who are dedicated to community service and our causes – female reproductive and breast cancers. These homes are dedicated to women no longer with us and to the survivors of these cancers. We have stories to share in our event magazine that will grab your heart and dedicate you more to the cause when you hear about the heart and the bravery of these women. These stories embody why our Signature Project, ‘Take the Time, Know the Signs’, was chosen and how important the message is to share.
Additional Tour "Tie Ins"
To celebrate Mother's Day, and our award winning publication "My Mama Made That, Virginia Favorites", the Junior League has created a "Celebrity Apron Auction"! The auction will be held online, utilizing the existing e-Bay Charity site, and will feature aprons signed by everyone from Williard Scott to "Jack" from Will and Grace!

Come See Us at Peninsula Town Center in Hampton, Virginia!
The JLHR has been given an exciting opportunity to occupy some space at the beautiful new shopping and eating mecca in Hampton, Virginia – Peninsula Town Center. The Junior League of Hampton Roads, along with our partner, Susan G. Komen For the Cure Tidewater Affiliate, will be occupying a beautiful space donated by Peninsula Town Center through the tour dates. This space will allow us to more fully get the word out about the tour, the special party events featuring celebrity chefs and the apron auction. We will also be able to share community brochures with those who are interested in learning more about female reproductive and breast cancers.
This space is conveniently located between Barnes & Noble and JC Penny, facing Coliseum Drive. There are blue & white awnings on the corner unit which also faces the square where they will hold their ribbon cutting event on March 11, 2010.
