- A candidate for membership shall possess an interest to voluntarism, commitment to community service, and an interest in developing her potential for voluntary community participation. No additional criteria shall be used. There shall be no deliberative process in the admissions system. No candidate for admission to membership in the League shall fail to be considered for reasons of race, creed, religion, disability or national origin.
- Women who are current residents of, or employed in the following communities: Cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and Williamsburg; Counties of Gloucester, Isle of Wight, James City and York, are eligible for membership.
- A prospective member shall be at least 21 years of age at the time of application. Two (2) members of the League, either Active or Sustainer, shall sponsor each prospective member.
- The prospective member must attend an orientation designed to inform the prospective member of membership responsibilities. The Chairman of the Membership Development Committee must receive the completed application form no later than the postmarked date specified.
