2009-2010 New Member Class

All Junior Leagues reach out to women of all races, religions, and national origins who demonstrate an interest and commitment to voluntarism. Membership in the Junior League of Hampton Roads (JLHR) is open to all women over the age of 21 who work or reside in the communities of Gloucester, Hampton, Isle of Wight, James City County, Newport News, Poquoson, and York County or Williamsburg.

Getting Started

The Junior League of Hampton Roads hosts two informal informational sessions for women interested in membership in our organization. These sessions are held in June and July  with the New Member Class beginning mid-August for the year. They provide an opportunity to get acquainted with current members of the League, learn about the projects, services, and fundraisers in which we participate, and provide a time to socialize with those women who may be joining the JLHR with you. Our dues for New Members are $120.00, payment plans are available.

Applying for Membership

To be included, by invitation, for the summer informational sessions, please send an e-mail to volunteer@jlhr.org with the following: name, complete address, phone, and e-mail address. It would be helpful to include in the subject line, interested in membership so your information can be directed to the Membership Vice President who will contact you. Transfers

If you are interested in transferring from another League to us, please e-mail volunteer@jlhr.org requesting a transfer from your league to ours. It would be helpful to include in the subject line, interested in transferring and your information will be directed to the Corresponding Secretary who will contact you.
