During our rich 55 year history the Junior League of Hampton Roads has made a tremendous impact in the Hampton Roads community. Our highlights include the founding of the Volunteer Service Bureau operating today as The Volunteer Center. In 1965 we co-founded the Junior Nature Museum and Planetarium that today is the Virginia Living Museum, the largest natural habitat exhibit east of the Mississippi and one of four such exhibits in the United States. We also, with great pride, founded the Hands-On Children's Art Program at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center that is still offered today and is funded by a grant the League established at the program's inception.
