Junior League of Hampton Roads, Inc. Announces


2008-2009 Board of Directors

 


NEWPORT NEWS, VA -September 18, 2008-The Junior League of Hampton Roads, Inc. (www.jlhr.org) a non-profit organization of women and member of Association of Junior Leagues International (www.ajli.org) announces the local Board of Directors for 2008-2009 League year.

 


The Board of Directors for the Junior League of Hampton Roads, Inc. (JLHR) is responsible for managing the internal and external affairs of the organization which has a membership of more than 600 volunteers. It also provides leadership based on the strategic plan of community projects as approved by the general membership. Current projects include monetary and volunteer hours to various Hampton Roads non-profit organizations such as: YMCA's Bright Beginnings, FOODBANK of the Virginia Peninsula, Girls of Excellence with South Morrison Elementary School and the upcoming Miles of Smiles with the Virginia Living Museum.

 


The new Board of Directors are as follows: Jennifer Kelsay~ President; Beth Doggette~ President-Elect; Donna Naylor~ Communications Vice-President; Liz Rous~ Community Vice-President; Molly Trant~ Finance Vice-President; Courtnay Gilmore~ Marketing and Development Vice-President; Holly Hager~ Membership Vice-President; Kimi Dornan~ Recording/Corresponding Secretary; Kristen Ball~ Treasurer; Christine Mahan~ Community Research and Project Development (CRPD;) Member at Large and Operations Assistant~ Mandy Eberwine.

 


Mission: The Junior League of Hampton Roads, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
